Supporting Artists: Geriatrics Unit at CAMH & Students at Toronto Public Library
"Art on the Move" was an initiative that transformed Toronto's urban landscape by featuring large-scale artworks on TTC buses and other vehicles. The project aimed to integrate art into daily life, making it accessible and enhancing the city’s visual experience.
The initiative showcased diverse local artists, each bringing unique styles and cultural narratives to the streets. It not only beautified the city but also fostered dialogue about the impact of public art. Celebrated for its inclusivity, "Art on the Move" represented Toronto’s rich cultural diversity through a range of artworks, from abstract pieces to those reflecting community stories, creating a dynamic moving gallery.
I was honored to be a featured artist in two of the three years the project ran. In the first year, I collaborated with the geriatrics unit at CAMH to create watercolors, which were then adapted into designs for a woodworking company’s vehicle. In the second year, I worked with the Toronto Public Library, where local youth’s artwork inspired the design for a TPL truck, showcasing their creativity and connecting the project to the community.
