This project was the third consecutive collaboration with G&G Electronics, where we painted three nearby walls. Building on previous years, this project offered continued artistic mentorship for former mural youth artists.
The design process began with brainstorming sessions aimed at creating a mural for young children and early teens. The goal was to craft an immersive space with highly stylized figures, imaginative abstract elements, and vivid colors.
At that stage in our work in East Scarborough, engaging youth in the arts could be a challenging at times, but by offering paid summer positions, we aimed to connect employment with art. Once involved, the youth showed a strong desire to return and engage in the creative process and further develop their skills and abilities.
