During the summer of 2009, we created several murals along Blake Street in Toronto's east end. One of these projects was at Kempton Howard Park. This mural, created by eight youth, is situated in a park named after local leader Kempton Howard, who was tragically lost in 2003. It explores themes of change, renewal, and rebirth, with each side of the shed depicting a different season and interconnected through symbolic imagery.
Another mural was installed on the south wall of Three's Company restaurant on Pape Street. This mural celebrates the concept of the global village, drawing inspiration from Marc Chagall's 1911 painting "I and the Village." It reflects the warmth of a close-knit community and its connection to the broader world.
Additionally, we created a vibrant and playful mural in a playground within the TCHC housing complex, designed to engage and delight the many children who use the space daily.
