Our second mural partnership with G&G Electronics focused on music—a universal language connected to painting and inspired by Wassily Kandinsky. We aimed to visually translate sound and inspire the community, showcasing art’s power to unite people, bridge generations, and transform spaces.
A key element was the youth artistic mentorship, where experienced artists guided young participants, fostering their skills and confidence. Engaging conversations between artists, business owners, staff, and tenants added depth to the project. Notably, dialogues between the youth and the business founder in his eighties created a synergy of generational empathy. The youth learned about World War II and Japanese internment camps, while the founder gained insights into the challenges of pursuing an arts education from a low-income background, enriching the mural with profound meaning.
